It’s new camera time. I’d been thinking that maybe, depending upon the specs and release date and cost and etc. I might get the Leica Q3 when available. But the more I thought about it the more I realized it wasn’t really what I wanted. I’ve been using my original Q purchased in 2015 more as an M than a Q. I never use the back screen to compose images, but always use the viewfinder. I use manual focus almost exclusivly. And I do like using rangefinders. So why not get what I want?
A box
with packing peanuts
Inside, another box
One more box
The M11 I ordered arrived today. I must admit that while the packaging of the inner box is adequate, it is a step down from the packaging of the last Leica cameras purchased. Everything is there and well protected and the box will sit on a shelf possibly forever, so any disappointment will soon be forgotten.
Not as fancy as the packaging for older Leicas

Charging
Still charging, but with strap and lens attached
I mounted my ZEISS C Biogon 2.8/35 lens along with the strap that came with the camera. I’m waiting for the battery to fully charge before updating to the latest firmware (released just recently) and taking my first test shots.
