License plate holder/storage
License plate holder…
Opens for extra storage
This was on my old GS. The original installation is described here. All I’ve done is move it to the new bike. I’ll mount the GSCYCLE license plate once the DMV paperwork is in order

Under rack tail bag
A package from Touratech arrived while I was out. It contained my hand guards and an under rack rear tail bag. I installed the rear tail bag after putting the rear deck and rack back on the bike as part of my P3 lights install. I’ll get to the hand guards, tomorrow.

License plate for the new bike
Licensed
Yesterday while waiting for my 600 mile service the dealer handed me the license plate and registration for the new bike. Today I took the new plate to the DMV and after a 35 minute wait and 10 minutes of form filling and head scratching the new plate was returned to the DMV and my saved GSCYCLE plate was assigned to the bike with new tags.
I removed the dealer bracket which was holding the cardboard place saver when mounting the plate on the bike. I also moved the P3 lights in closer to the plate. Looks better.

Shift lever position adjusted
Shift lever linkage
Loose lock nuts
Slightly lower
The shift lever was initially too low. I didn’t adjust it after putting on the BMW Enduro Footpegs in the low position. Good thing, the lever was too high. Today I lowered it a small amount. It’s an easy job. I suspect it will take a few tries to get it exactly where I want.

Bending the sidestand deployment tang
slight bend
The tang used to help deploy the side stand is still getting in my way when I slide my foot inboard to shift. I gave it a slight bend to try to move it out of the way. Probably not enough. I’ll wait for a few test rides before I bend it any more.
