Brady Sturm (see http://www.stormind.net/) is an Adventure Rider member who makes cordura bags. If his standard products aren’t perfect for your needs he’ll make bags to your specification. Good bags at a reasonable price. I found out about the bags on this thread on http://www.advrider.com.
Freebie bag
It was time to retire the free bag I’d used as a liner for one of my Zega cases mounted on my ‘05 GS. The Holan Nomada panniers may hold a bit more, but there is a lip on the top which made the old bag a bit of a hassle to fit when packed. I’ll not mention the bag color. After all, it was free.
Bag for 38l holan
8x16x14.5 is a perfect fit for the left side
This is the bag I ordered. The base is 8” x 16” which fits inside the lip of my 38 liter Nomada Pro pannier. I asked for 14 1/2” tall which is about flush with the lip of the bags. That will leave a little room — about the height of the lid — of extra space.
I like the zipper arrangement in this bag better, too. I could unzip the bag and remove items without removing the bag from the pannier if that should ever be necessary. I only needed a bag for the non-exhaust side of the bike and that’s what I ordered.
Roll top bag
Roll top keeps dirt out
I find it convenient to pack some of my camping gear in a single bag that I can strap to a pannier lid. The problem was finding a proper sized bag. They were either too short or too fat. The bag didn’t need to be water proof, but I prefer a roll top as it keeps dirt and dust out better than a zipper.
This bag in the pictures is holding my tarp, kermit chair, pillow, tent, and air mattress with a little space left over. It is exactly as I specified. More important, it is exactly what I wanted!
Both bags will be put to the test in a Fathers Day camping trip.
