A permit has been pulled and the external digging started today. As feared, Orangeburg pipe was found. It doesn’t last much longer than 50 years. Our house is approaching 50 years. The square hole cut in the pipe was used to find that the Orangeburg starts just at the edge of the house and goes to the street. It will be replaced, but that means digging up a section of patio. We’ll try to salvage as much of the stone covering as possible.
Irrigation water has been turned off as sections of both supply and drain pipes had to be cut.
