downspout repair
I discovered the source of a minor roof leak a while back. There was a tear where the plastic membrane fed into the down spout. I did a temporary patch and called the roofers for a proper repair. Today the panel where the roof meets the downspout was replaced.

No more tripod
At the same time I had them remove a tripod for a satelite dish (remember Primestar?). One of the legs had been removed long ago, leaving only a bracket. The other two legs were sticking up in the air, looking ugly. I tied the two legs together so they wouldn’t wiggle around about a decade ago. Now the two legs and the bracket for the third are gone. The three roof mount points have been patched.
Next up is replacement of the crazed pool house skylight. And rain gutters for the pool house, too.

Skylight and rain gutters are not next up… Finishing up some miscellaneous house repairs that have been in progress comes first.
Dry rot repair
The dry rot in the eaves of the pool house was removed in August and patched in early Sept. Today the patch was sanded down and painted. Will it hold when the gutters are replace? I’ll find out.
Hinges
The bench covering the pool cover mechanism is now complete. Hinges were added at the end pieces for ease of access to the mechanism. The last bench lasted 15 years. This one might last longer.
Stained tiles removed
Good match
Also done today was the removal and replacement of some stained marble tiles at the entryway. I found a pretty good match for the existing tiles but had to order a box of ten.
