It’s never good to find water dripping from the ceiling. This part of the ceiling is below the 2nd floor bath.
Plumber took a quick look on Saturday. He’ll be back Tuesday to cut into the ceiling and try to figure out where the water is coming from. We can wait as the leak is dripping at the slow rate of about 1/2 cup of water per day.

A portion of the ceiling was cut away to take a look. We got lucky. The leak was quite close to where the plumber cut into the ceiling. A T was leaking due to corrosion at the soldered joint. That joint was at least 30 years old, probably added when the previous owners of the house remodelled. Now I’m thinking about other soldered joints in the house.
A bit more of the ceiling was removed to access area of the leaky pipe. The leaking portion was cut away and replaced. Now I need to find someone who knows what they are doing to fix the ceiling.
The divots in the ceiling seen in the last image were covered by a piece of trim. Before the previous owners remodeled there was a wall and doorway leading to a walk in closet.
