I rode the R69S to breakfast in Castro Valley with the SMBC this morning. After breakfast I rode to Vasona Park after running a few errands. Today was the 25th Annual Alex Silverio Memorial Picnic vintage BMW get together. I took a few pictures of the bikes in attendance.

Minimal fuzz on oil plug
When I got home I waited a short while for the pipes to cool then pulled the oil drain plug. The engine oil was still plenty hot. There was minimal fuzz on the oil drain plug. The oil didn’t look too bad, either. It’s been 1,254 miles (36 hours of engine running time) since the last service.

I was busy Monday and had a mid-week ride on Tuesday. Today I added 2 quarts of new oil, oiled the brake and clutch linkages, checked the steering, and verified that all my lights are working. The final step was to reset the hour meter on my Tiny-tach. That is all of the required items for this very minor service. I will likely wash my fingerprints off of the bike, tomorrow. It is otherwise ready to ride.

The bike has been washed, lightly waxed, riden to shake off any pools of water from nooks and crannies, and the tire pressure adjusted. All is well.
